Jelly Roll might be ‘Jelly Swoll’ the next time WWE fans see him in the ring.
The rapper/singer made an appearance at WWE SummerSlam in Cleveland. He was advertised as performing “God Bless America” at the event. This was also followed by a surprise in-ring segment that saw him use a chair before chokeslamming Austin Theory. The segment ended with Jelly Roll, R-Truth and The Miz hitting Theory with a Five Knuckle Shuffle.
Jelly Roll was on Thursday’s episode of The Pat McAfee Show. He joked with McAfee about slimming down, which would also mean a name change was in order.
“Yeah, we might just get rid of the roll and just be ‘Jelly’. We’ll let it jiggle just a little bit. We might get rid of the rolls and keep the jelly. I think I’d still be sexy,” he joked.
McAfee then asked him if we was trying to get fit. Jelly Roll said he was, noting that he had some “unfinished business” in the ring.
“Yeah, man, I mean I’ve got to by next year dude,” he said. “Because I’ve got unfinished business in the WWE.”
John Cena On Jelly Roll
Jelly Roll paid tribute to John Cena by hitting the Five Knuckle Shuffle at WWE SummerSlam, and the 16-time world champion noticed.
Cena later commented on the tribute, teasing that the singer would be a great tag team partner on his retirement tour.
“Have listened to his music, had the privilege of spending some time with him, and now know I have a GREAT option for a tag team partner anytime @WWE comes to Nashville! @JellyRoll615’s Time is Now!!!! #SummerSlam,” Cena wrote.
