Pete Dunne advanced to the next round of the WWE Speed #1 Contender’s Tournament.
The WWE Speed #1 Contender’s Tournament continued on the August 2 episode of the show. Pete Dunne took on Julius Creed of The Creed Brothers, and they went back and forth in a competitive bout. Despite a valiant effort from Creed, Dunne put him away with the Bitter End.
Dunne will face Joaquin Wilde in the quarterfinals of the tournament. Wilde beat Axiom on the July 31st episode of WWE Speed.
The winner of Pete Dunne vs. Joaquin Wilde awaits the other side of the bracket, which hasn’t begun yet. Je’Von Evans will face Ashante “Thee” Adonis, and Austin Theory will face Montez Ford. The winner of the tournament will go on to challenge Andrade for the WWE Speed Championship. Andrade previously beat Ricochet to win the title.
Pete Dunne also has his sights set on Trick Williams. After attacking Williams on the July 30 episode of WWE NXT, Dunne will face the former NXT Champion on the August 6 episode of NXT.
Additionally, he is currently feuding with Sheamus on WWE RAW. He cost Sheamus his match against Bronson Reed on the July 30 episode of WWE RAW.
