Kurt Angle is open to being a pro wrestling manager — if it’s the right fit.
Kurt Angle has competed all over the world. He has wrestled in WWE, TNA Wrestling, WhatCulture Pro Wrestling, and has also competed in Japan. Angle is one of the few stars who has held the WWE, IWGP, and TNA World Championships. Recently, Angle mentioned that he would be open to taking up a manager role in the world of professional wrestling.
Recently, while speaking on The Kurt Angle Show, Kurt Angle shared that he would consider taking up a manager role if the person he is managing, the program he and the star he manages will be involved in, and the money all should be right for him.
“I’m happy doing what I’m doing. But would I consider managing? Yeah, it would have to be the right thing. It would have to be the right deal, the right program. Not only that, but the money has to be right.” [H/T Fightful]
Kurt Angle turned down the offer to manage Matt Riddle
Angle also revealed that WWE once offered him to be the manager of Matt Riddle. Kurt Angle felt it would be a great partnership but he turned it down because the money was not right.
“I will tell you this, I feel a little badly about doing this, but a few years ago, WWE wanted me to manage Matt Riddle. I was into it. I was like, okay, we could have some great vignettes. I think we would have had great chemistry, but it didn’t happen unfortunately because they didn’t offer me the right amount of money. The money they offered me was really not good. Not to say anything bad about the company, but it was like okay, that was kind of a kick to the nuts kind of an offer [laughs],” Kurt Angle said.
