Last night’s episode of NXT was week one of The Great American Bash. The night was filled with title matches. The show kicked off with the WWE Women’s Tag Team Title match between the champions, the Unholy Union, and the challenges Meta Four. The NXT UK Heritage Cup was also on the line last night in a match between the champion Tony D’Angelo and No Quarter Catch Crew’s Tavion Heights.
The main event of the night was the NXT Women’s Championship match between the champion Roxanne Perez and challenger Thea Hail. Despite putting up a tough fight, Chase U’s Thea Hail was unable to get the job done. The Prodigy Roxanne Perez hit the Pop Rox and pinned Hail to pick up the win and retain her championship.
Roxanne Perez sends a message
Following the match, Perez sent a message to the entire WWE Universe. She mentioned that people should stop worrying about stars such as Giulia and Stephanie Vaquer and focus on her. The Prodigy also claimed that the NXT Women’s Division is the best in the world and by default makes her the best female wrestler in the world as she is holding the NXT Women’s Championship.
“I’ll give Thea [Hail] her respect. Cuz, yeah, she almost had me there. But, realistically everybody needs to stop worrying about everybody else around the world. Not a Thea, not a Giulia, not a Stephanie [Vaquer, the latest WWE signee]. NXT is the best women’s division in the world. And this [The NXT Women’s World Championship] is on my shoulder. Which means I am the best woman in the world. That’s it. Good night,” Roxanne Perez said.
It is also to be noted that no titles changed hands on NXT last night.
