Kaitlyn (Celeste Bonin) Is Open To A Return To WWE, Was Brought In For 2022 Royal Rumble

Former WWE Divas Champion Kaitlyn recently revealed she is open to a return to the WWE.

The wrestler, whose real name is Celeste Bonin, left the WWE in 2014 after losing to AJ Lee. She was considered one of the best wrestlers in the women’s division at the time, and was a huge loss to the roster.

She did return, albeit briefly, to the promotion in 2018. Kaitlyn was a part of the Mae Young Classic Tournament, beating Kavita Devi in the first round. She lost to Mia Yim in the next round, marking her final appearance in the WWE.

However, Kaitlyn thinks it would be cool to do something with the WWE in the future. Speaking on the Developmentally Speaking podcast (H/T to WrestleTalk), she revealed that she is in the best shape of her life, and would be down for a WWE appearance in the future.

Kaitlyn also revealed that she was called to appear at the Royal Rumble in 2022. It was reported at the time that she was spotted in town for event, but never made an on-air appearance.

Now, the former Divas Champion explained that she came in as a back-up in case anybody dropped out, and didn’t end up making an appearance.

“I think it would be cool to do something at some point.” Kaitlyn said. “I’m in the best shape ever physically now. I actually went (to the Royal Rumble) not last year but the year before I think. WWE called me to come out, I ended up not doing anything on the show. But I’m open to it.

“I think, before, I had such an attachment to what wrestling has to be or what container it has to fit in. But now I just see myself as who I am. So if there’s ever an opportunity to go and do something really cool with wrestling in some way and it makes sense for me and makes sense for my schedule, then I would so be down for it.

“I of course, need to brush up a little bit in the ring. I haven’t been in the ring for a couple of years. But I’m at this stage of my life where I’m like, ‘let’s go, let’s do it;. So I would definitely be open to something like that. Definitely don’t have the chapter fully closed in terms of what I’ll allow myself to participate in or be a part of.”
