Joe Hendry Has A ‘Love-Hate Thing’ With AJ Francis, But He’s The Perfect Foil

Joe Hendry has a mixed relationship with TNA Digital Media Champion AJ Francis.

The TNA star found worldwide fame with his parody song videos in recent months. He tunes mocking AJ Francis, which included parody’s of Creed’s “Higher” and AJ Styles’ TNA theme song, received millions of views online, drawing the interest of the WWE.

He has since debuted in NXT, and is one of the hottest stars in wrestling today. That rivalry with AJ Francis has a lot to do with his success, although they do not always see eye-to-eye.

Joe Hendry recently spoke with Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful. Hr talked about his relationship with AJ Francis, noting them have a “love-hate thing” at the moment. He cites his treatment of the Digital Media title and his social media personality as the reasons behind their strained relationship.

“I mean, there’s that, you know, with AJ we’ve got this love-hate thing where he’s just absolutely unbearable on social media. I mean, I’ve never been more thankful for the mute button in my entire life. Some of the things that he puts up… Look, if I ever challenge for the digital media championship, I will have someone remove… Have you seen some of the videos he’s posted with that title belt? Some of the things he’s done with that title belt… If I ever win that belt again, we’ve got to get a new one made before I put it on my shoulder.”

Joe Hendry Says Everybody Won In Their Feud

Despit their relationship, Joe Hendry thinks both men won durign their TNA feud.

He claimed AJ Francis was his perfect foil, and that the pair have good chemistry, despite annoying each other.

“But, all jokes aside, AJ is the perfect foil for what I do. I think that us working together is a really good example of everybody winning. The fans won, AJ won, I won, everybody won. It was a great piece of business. We work really well together, we’ve got really good chemistry, but we annoy the hell out of each other. So it’s this really weird dynamic: I like him, but we hate each other at the same time.”
