Ava said that she and Shawn Michaels were ready to release Brooks Jensen, but they decided to give him a second chance in NXT.
In recent weeks, Brooks Jensen has disrupted NXT in a variety of ways. He has made controversial social media posts, berated the commentary team, and otherwise acted unprofessionally, and he was even “arrested” after being kicked out of NXT. Jensen claimed that his contract was up on June 28, making him a free agent. Despite his behavior, Shawn Michaels arranged for him to meet with NXT General Manager Ava.
On the July 9 episode of WWE NXT, Brooks Jensen apologized to Ava. He explained that he was in his own head, trying to figure out where he was going, and he got lost. Jensen said that he owned his actions.
Ava encouraged him to persevere through the lows, and he said that he felt pressure due to being a second-generation superstar. Ava understood that pressure but stated that she and Shawn Michaels were ready to release him. However, she noted that some people vouched for Jensen, so they decided to give him a second chance, albeit with a warning.
Jensen expressed his gratitude and promised that he would make an impact.
Later in the show, Jensen attacked Je’Von Evans backstage. His former tag team partner, Brooks Jensen, confronted him and expressed his frustration. Briggs noted that he stuck his neck out for Jensen.
Ava later scolded Jensen and said that he had to get it together. She said that Jensen would face Evans next week if he got cleared.
Jensen and Briggs previously won the NXT UK Tag Team Championship together in 2022.
