Cody Rhodes Says He Suffered Two Broken Ribs When Jacob Fatu Attacked Him On WWE SmackDown

Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes claims that he got banged up when Jacob Fatu attacked him on WWE SmackDown.

At the WWE live event on June 23, Cody Rhodes faced Shinsuke Nakamura. Rhodes’ ribs were taped up, and during a promo he cut, he stated that he suffered two broken ribs when Fatu attacked him Friday night on SmackDown. Rhodes also said that WWE offered to let him take off, including the June 28 episode of WWE SmackDown. However, he said no. (Clip courtesy of @rhodecross on Twitter)

Fatu made his WWE debut on the June 21 episode of WWE SmackDown. In the main event, Rhodes faced Solo Sikoa, and the match ended abruptly when Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa attacked the champion. Randy Orton and Kevin Owens made the save, but Fatu arrived and laid them all out.
