But when we speak about retirement speeches, to be more specific, ‘fake retirement’ speeches, only one stands out for most fans. It is of course the one of Mark Henry’s. Recently AJ Styles also pulled a ‘Mark Henry’. WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker recently shared his thoughts on both AJ Styles’ and Mark Henry’s promos.
While speaking on the recent episode of the Six Feet Under with Mark Calloway podcast, The Undertaker appreciated AJ Styles for his promo. The Deadman also mentioned that Mark Henry’s fake retirement promo was one of the greatest promo of all time.
“He [AJ styles] did [cut a good ‘Fake retirement’ promo]. But Mark’s was probably one of the greatest promos ever. By far Mark’s greatest promo. But it’s up there all time. Cuz, I mean, I remember when he did it. I hadn’t spoke a lot to Mark. And you know, Mark’s was getting up there too. And they… I was like, ’S***. This is it man.’ I bought it. I bit the hook man. I was like, ‘That dog man.’ That was awesome,” The Undertaker said.
