Elias revealed he had plans for his brother, Elrod, in WWE.
The wrestler, who now goes by Elijah after his WWE release, wrestled for the company for nine years. During this time, he mostly wrestled as Elias, but had a short stint as Ezekiel in 2022.
Ezekiel was the clean-shaven brother of Elias, and was a big departure from his “Drifter” character. The change drew the ire of many WWE superstars, including Kevin Owens, who regularly called out Elias and Ezekial for being the same person.
There was also talk of a third brother in the family, named Elrod. He could have become another character in the WWE, had they not released Elias last year.
WWE even released a family photo. Elias portrayed every member of his so-called family, in a hilarious, Nutty Professor-style undertaking for the Superstar.
Elias spoke with Metro about his career in the WWE. He talked about his gimmick as Ezekiel, playing the “brother” of Elias by shaving his face, while other wrestlers watched in bemusement.
The former WWE star also revealed that he has a character in mind for Elias’ other bother, Elrod. He also wants to create characters for other members of the family, and sees a whole new direction the gimmick could go in.
“From a comfort standpoint, it was definitely interesting. But it’s another one of those things where I’m like, ‘Okay, boss, I’ll make the best of it.’”
“I still have a character in mind for my older brother Elrod. I think we’ve opened up a whole box of characters and creative outlets we could possibly go in.”
Elias was also asked about potentially landing in AEW or TNA. He’s not sure he’s interested in that, but he’s also not closing the door on those opportunities, either.
“There’s been interest all around the world,” he shared. “But just for me personally, I’m just not sure if I even want to jump into a situation like that, you know what I mean? I’m not going to write anything off, because you just never know what opportunity might pop up or sound good or fun or creative. But in the meantime, right now, I’m not really not seeking anything out like that.”
