Will Ospreay Vows To Become ‘Two Belts Billy’ At AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door

Will Ospreay aims to be a double champion.

At AEW Double or Nothing, Will Ospreay beat Roderick Strong to win the AEW International Championship. On the following episode of AEW Dynamite, he earned a world title shot at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door. Ospreay retained his title against Kyle O’Reilly on the June 1 episode of AEW Collision.

In a digital exclusive, Will Ospreay commented on his victory, as he was asked whether his body would hold up if he kept defending his title on the road to Forbidden Door.

“Proven track record, my friend,” Will Ospreay said. “Every single place I’ve ever gone to and everywhere I’ve ever gone, I’ve challenged for the biggest belts, and I have won every single title. Kyle O’Reilly, my god, what a professional wrestler. I remember in 2016, a young immature William needed a friend’s shoulder, and he was there. He took me to a British pub in Japan. I’ve always held Kyle to the highest of standards, the highest respects.

“While I defend this beautiful International Championship and bring more prestige and add more legacy to it, I am after the world championship as well. There is nothing in the rule book saying that I can’t defend this championship and go for the world championship as well. Two Belts Billy. Get the shirt ready, boys.”
