Wrestlenomics (via Programming Insider) reports that SmackDown drew 2.310 million viewers on Friday. This marks the show’s highest number since April 19. The May 24 episode drew 2.147 million viewers.
In the 18 to 49 demographic, SmackDown scored a 0.65 rating, which is the show’s highest number since April 12. The May 24 episode drew a 0.56 rating.
What happened on WWE SmackDown this week?
This week’s show kicked off with the coronation of Queen Nia Jax. Jax hyped up her potential match with Bayley later this year at SummerSlam.
Tomasso Ciampa defeated Austin Theory, which could set up a future WWE Tag Team Title shot for DIY against A-Town Down Under in the coming weeks.
The Bloodline was also in action as Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa picked up a win over The Street Profits. Paul Heyman continues to look like he’s fearing for his life.
The close of the show witnessed witness AJ Styles channel Mark Henry with a fake retirement speech, which ended with him assaulting Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes.
