The Rock Gets A Surprise Birthday Party From His ‘Moana’ Family

The Rock celebrated his birthday this week, with the help of his “Moana” family.

The People’s Champion turned 52 years old this week. He recently finished his latest run with the WWE. It ended with a tag team match with Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 40.

The Rock is currently filming the live-action version of his hit film Moana. While on location for the movie, he was surprised by the Disney cast and crew to celebrate his 52nd birthday in style.

He posted an Instagram video of The Rock being thrown a surprise party in the recording studio. The WWE legend tentatively entered the room to the cast and crew serenading him with a rendition of “Happy Birthday.” They gave him presents, cake, and, of course, tequila to celebrate.

The Rock gave a short speech, thanking everyone for their support and how he is looking forward to “building the universe of Moana” going forward.

He also included a caption with the video, which read:

“I never hard charge into an unknown room. I take it nice and eaze… Never know what’s waiting for ya on the other side – in this case a very sweet birthday surprise!
Thank you so much to my @disneystudios & #TeamMoana partners for the love.
Love you back.~ Maui ?? ?”

The Rock vs Roman Reigns Was Original WrestleMania Plan

Former WWE head writer Brian Gewirtz was a recent guest on Busted Open Radio. He spoke about the original plans for WrestleMania 40, and how he thought Cody Rhodes winning the Royal Rumble was “problematic”, considering their plans for The Rock vs Roman Reigns.

He also revealed he wanted CM Punk to win the Royal Rumble, instead of Cody Rhodes.

“The idea of Cody winning the Rumble, I saw it as problematic,” Brian Gewirtz admitted. “To be in full transparency I said even in San Diego in that meeting, I thought the cleanest thing to do if we’re booking Rock and Roman is to have Punk win the Rumble and challenge Rollins. Just because there’s a difference storyline-wise, in my opinion, of Cody wanting to finish the story and having earned the right to finish the story by winning the Royal Rumble.
