The Young Bucks Helped Jack Perry Navigate AEW Absence After All In, ‘Jack Unfairly Ate Crap’

Jack Perry is back in a big way, as he has been paired up with the Young Bucks. They discuss his absence and his return.

Jack Perry was suspended for his involvement in the backstage incident with CM Punk at AEW All In. He returned at AEW Dynasty, where he helped the Young Bucks win the AEW World Tag Team Championship.

In an interview with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, the Young Bucks shared their thoughts on Jack Perry’s return.

“Jack unfairly ate crap for a very long time,” said Matt Jackson. “So we had a lot of empathy for him, and we were very excited to help launch his comeback.”

The Young Bucks Kept An Eye On Jack Perry

Matt Jackson noted that they kept an eye on Jack Perry while he was absent from AEW, and they helped him navigate the situation. He stated that they were familiar with it, given their own incident with Punk at AEW All Out 2022.

“We kept an eye on him the entire time he was gone and helped him navigate the situation–a familiar one that we had also gone through,” said Matt Jackson. “We also talked him down a few times, we gave him advice on how to succeed in Japan. It felt like he was our little brother. We saw him for the first time since All In, a couple days prior to the pay-per-view.

“We met him in our private jet, and talked endlessly the entire flight, we let him get it all out of his system, but assured him that this would be a fresh start. I was so thrilled to hear and see the groundswell for him when he appeared for the first time. It was like a rebirth for him.”

Nick Jackson made it clear that they were happy for Jack Perry, as he deserved a big moment.

“We had just wrestled Sting in his retirement match, so that was perfect,” Nick Jackson said. “We were super proud and happy for Jack. He deserved a big moment and a big reaction, and he got both of those things in one moment.”

Matt Jackson On Jack Perry: I Want That Guy On My Team

Matt Jackson also commented on Jack Perry wearing a Sting mask for his return at AEW Dynasty. He noted that Perry was like a wildcard brother.

“We retired his old ass the month prior [at Revolution], so I thought that was cool,” said Matt Jackson. “Jack’s like the wildcard kid-brother who’s completely unafraid of consequences. He surprises me every week. A young, handsome, unapologetic, athletic kid–that is a very dangerous person. I want that guy on my team.”

WrestleZone will have coverage of AEW Dynamite as it airs on Wednesday.
