Last week was the 2024 WWE Draft. In the draft, the Scottish Warrior Drew McIntyre was picked up by Monday Night Raw. But he only got drafted in the third round of night two. McIntyre was upset about being drafted that late. What annoyed him even more was the fact that CM Puk, who is sidelined due to an injury was drafted a couple of rounds before him.
Recently, Drew McIntyre was a guest on The Pat McAfee Show. During the show, the former WWE Champion mentioned that he is still perplexed about the WWE Draft and his standing.
“I don’t know the right word for it,” McIntyre told McAfee. “It’s just — this is stupid. This is actually stupid … It doesn’t even make me angry, it just perplexed me.” [H/T WrestlingInc.]
Drew McIntyre also shared his thoughts on the current roster. He wanted them to look a little more like an athlete.
“If that’s how you feel, I’ll keep proving you wrong,” McIntyre said. “I’m going to keep putting in the work and going to keep making sure I keep looking like a WWE Superstar. It seems like these days I’m constantly being asked, ‘Why don’t half the roster look like wrestlers?’… A lot of our roster aren’t larger-than-life and pass that ‘Airport Test.’ They walk through an airport and your eyes are drawn to them and you can’t figure out why. You don’t have to be my size to have that. But for goodness sake, at least look like an athlete.”
CM Punk wants to break Drew McIntyre’s face
The rivalry between CM Punk and McIntyre seems to be reaching its boiling point. This week on Raw, following his promo, Punk was interviewed by Jackie Redmond backstage. During the interview, Punk promised to break McIntyre’s face and heart.
“It [the feud between Drew McIntyre and CM Punk] ends with me breaking his face. There’s no… There’s no… This isn’t me being a nice guy anymore. This is about him taking time off my career, this is about him potentially ruining a WrestleMania moment for me. And me wanting to show him that he picked a very personal fight with the pettiest man on the roster that he can’t possibly win. I’ve fought big guys before. I’ve been beaten up. Psychologically he cannot break me. And I’m going to break his heart,” CM Punk said.
