Asuka Pulled From WWE Queen Of The Ring Tournament Due To Injury

A second injury affected the WWE King and Queen of the Ring tournaments before they even began, as Asuka was pulled from the competition.

Asuka was scheduled to face Lyra Valkyria in a first-round match in the Queen of the Ring tournament on the May 6 episode of WWE RAW. Earlier in the show, Asuka’s Damage CTRL stablemate IYO SKY defeated Natalya in a first-round match. After the bout, Dakota Kai hyped up Damage CTRL’s arrival on WWE RAW. She also said that “The Empress of Tomorrow” was injured, so she would be taking her place.

Additional details are not known at this time. Asuka last wrestled at WWE Backlash France on May 4. There, she and Kairi Sane lost the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship due to injury. The nature of her injury, and the timeline for her return, is currently unclear.

WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
