The Undertaker: Cody Rhodes Is An Example Of Motivation And Not Being Content

The Undertaker revealed Cody Rhodes left him a voicemail the morning after WrestleMania 40.

The Deadman was a key part of Rhodes’ victory in the main event that night. He appeared during Rhodes’ match with Roman Reigns, attacking The Rock and helping Cody win the WWE Championship for the first time.

However, that was not the last he heard from The American Nightmare that night.

Speaking on his Six Feet Under podcast, The Undertaker revealed that Cody Rhodes left him a voicemail at nearly 4am that night, and the Deadman claimed that he was having “a good time” in celebrating.

“He sent me a voicemail the night he won the title. It was 3:49 AM, I think. I made out about half of it! I believe he was having a good time that night. Well deserved. He has come full circle. I didn’t see him developing into being the sports entertainer that he is, right now. This is another example of motivation and not being content with where you’re at and learning.”

“A lot of guys come into WWE before they are ready. They end up leaving, and leaving unhappy. I don’t know for certain, but I’m pretty sure he left the same way. Man, did he figure things out on both sides. From the marketing aspect, business aspect, to connecting with the audience. He’s not the same person as when he left. Not even close.”

The Undertaker Wakes Up Cold Sweats Over Giant Gonzalez Match

The Undertaker continued. His co-host joked that his match with Giant Gonzalez at WrestleMania 9 received a six-star rating, to which the Deadman claimed it got the extra star for finally ending.

He also noted that he wakes up in cold sweats just thinking about that match, which is one of the worst in WrestleMania history.

“I think I probably got the six stars just because it finally ended. It was over, thank God. This is done. I’m going to give him a star just for ending this miserable, ending this misery that we’re calling a match right now. Oh, that was awful. I didn’t mean to get off track there, but sometimes I wake up in cold sweats because of that match.”
