Swerve Strickland Believes New Shift In AEW Has The Locker Room On A New Morale Level

Swerve Strickland is thrilled about the current state of the locker room in All Elite Wrestling.

AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland recently sat down with Renee Paquette for AEW Close Up. When asked about the company’s current shift, Swerve said he believes there’s a new morale level in the locker room.

“Right now, I think the locker room is on a whole other morale level,” Swerve Strickland said. “Everybody knows you can’t like half step at all now. The guy next to you is Okada, the guy next to him is PAC, the guy next to him is Copeland.

“The guy next to him is Hobbs and Kyle Fletcher, who are hungry. And the guy next to them is Daniel Garcia. The guy next to them is the Lucha Brothers. And the guy next to them is Ospreay, who can just carve out a classic with a snap of a finger. The guys next to them are the Mogul Embassy.

“So the depth is insane, and we haven’t even gotten to the guys that haven’t even really been here for the last couple months. We haven’t had a Moxley, we haven’t had a Hangman Page, a MJF, a Keith Lee, we haven’t had a Kenny Omega. There’s a lot of guys where that shift needed to happen to really fill that space in that void while these guys are still recovering and getting through whatever they’re going through and stuff.

Swerve Strickland isn’t going to take the bait

“And for me to be at the top of that, there’s a lot of pressure to me to be the first of anything. There’s a lot of pressure. I can already read the comments and stuff, and I think they’re waiting to see how I respond to that. They want to see me take that bait.

“But they don’t understand the professionalism and the mind state I’m in at this point. They want to see the cracks. They’re waiting for it, coming right off of Dynasty going into Dynamite. It’s like boom, right into the action. And I’m like good, give me no room to speak.”
