AEW Collision Results – April 27, 2024

This week’s episode of AEW Collision kicks off with a video package recapping Swerve Strickland’s victory over Samoa Joe at Dynasty.

AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland and Prince Nana come to the ring. Prince Nana says the man standing in front of you today is the boss of bosses. Nana says Swerve is the anointed one in professional wrestling. Nana says Swerve is one hell of a wrestler. The crowd chants, “Thank you, Swerve.”

Swerve Strickland says it’s been quite the week in All Elite Wrestling. Strickland runs down all of the things that have gone down in the company over the past week. Strickland says what The Elite did to Tony Khan was a bitch move. Swerve Strickland says the most important thing that happened this week was him becoming AEW World Champion.

Strickland says the night he won the championship, he went to his daughter, who told him that she was proud of him, but she doesn’t know him. Swerve says that hit him hard for all the lost time he’s had with his family but hopes he can blaze a trail as champion to make all the time away worth it.

Swerve says he wants to do an open challenge and defend the AEW World Championship tonight. Claudio Castagnoli answers the challenge and makes his way to the ring. The two men face off, and Castagnoli says he’s on. The match will happen later on tonight.

An update on the medical status of Tony Khan

A video package recaps what happened between The Elite and Tony Khan on AEW Dynamite earlier this week. Tony Schiavone says Tony Khan suffered multiple head and neck injuries, but he’s still able to work. Schiavone says a Doctor has asked Khan not to travel and he’ll need to run the shows remotely until he’s cleared to get back on the road.

Bullet Club Gold defeated Top Flight and Action Andretti to retain the Unified AEW Trios Titles

  • Jay White hits Bladerunner on Action Andretti to score the pinfall victory for his team.

A video package plays recapping the AEW World Tag Title Ladder match at Dynasty between FTR and The Young Bucks.

The House of Black accepts Adam Copeland’s TNT Open Challenge for this Wednesday on AEW Dynamite. Copeland won’t know who he’ll face until the match begins.

Rey Fenix defeated The Beast Mortos

  • Rey Fenix catches The Beast Mortos with a tight reverse rollup to secure the pinfall victory.

A video package plays highlighting the history of Best Friends and Orange Cassidy.

Orange Cassidy is backstage. Cassidy says Trent said a lot of things on Dynamite that he’s still working his way through, but he’s afraid of what Trent and Chuck are going to do to each other in the parking lot fight later on tonight. Kris Statlander approaches Cassidy and tells him that they need them, and they both leave.

RUSH defeated Martin Stone

  • RUSH hits Martin Stone with The Horns to win the match via pinfall.

Serena Deeb makes her intentions clear regarding Toni Storm on AEW Collision

Serena Deeb is backstage. Deeb says she’s the obvious number-one contender for the AEW Women’s World Championship. Deeb says failure is not an option, and she believes it is now or never for her. Serena says this isn’t a movie, this is real life.

AEW Women’s World Champion Toni Storm (w/ Mariah May and Luther) defeated Anna Jay

  • Toni Storm hits Anna Jay with Storm Zero to secure the pinfall victory.

Chuck Taylor is backstage, and Orange Cassidy brings him a puppy. Taylor says he appreciates that, but whatever happens out there in the parking lot, he doesn’t want Cassidy to interfere; he needs to do this on his own. Cassidy says okay.

The Acclaimed (w/ Billy Gunn) defeated Grizzled Young Veterans

  • Max Caster hits the Mic Drop on Zack Gibson to score the pinfall victory for his team.

Katsuyori Shibata is backstage. Shibata says he will chop down the learning tree on Wednesday and take Chris Jericho’s FTW Title. Shibata says he will face Shane Taylor Promotions alone tonight on Rampage. Daniel Garcia comes in and says he will fight with Shibata tonight on Rampage. Shibata says okay and to save the last dance for him.
