Report: Update On NFL Network’s Reaction To Tony Khan’s Appearance

AEW CEO Tony Khan sparked controversy on April 26 by referring to WWE as the “Harvey Weinstein of wrestling” during an appearance on NFL Network.

Khan has generated buzz this week, as he was attacked on the April 24 episode of AEW Dynamite. The Elite took him out with a piledriver, and the angle received mainstream coverage.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) reports that all indications were that NFL Network was happy with Tony Khan’s appearance, despite the controversial line. Sapp cites one NFL Network contact who noted that they wanted Khan on the show, and they knew it would get attention after his appearance in a neck brace at the NFL Draft.

Khan is the Jacksonville Jaguars’ Chief Football Strategy Officer. His father, Shad Khan, owns the team. Shad Khan appeared on AEW Dynamite on Wednesday to check on Tony after the beat-down.
