Matt Riddle vs. Josh Bishop Set For MLW’s Azteca Lucha

Late last year, the Super King of Bros Matt Riddle was released from his WWE contract. Since then, the former WWE United States Champion has appeared in multiple promotions such as New Japan Pro Wrestling and Major League Wrestling.

In the past four months, Matt Riddle had captured (and since lost) the NJPW World Television Champion. In order to win the title, The Super King of Bros defeated Hiroshi Tanahashi at the New Japan New Beginnings in Sapporo. A couple of weeks ago, Riddle put his title against Zack Sabre Jr. at the NJPW Wind City Riot event. Zack Sabre Jr. managed to defeat the former WWE Superstar.

Recently, Matt Riddle wrestled Timothy Thatcher at the MLW War Chamber event. Now, he is set to return to MLW once again. Major League Wrestling has announced that the Super King of Bros will be wrestling Josh Bishop on May 11th at Azteca Lucha Live. The event will be taking place at the Cicero Stadium in Chicago.

Matt Riddle on why he chose to compete in MLW

Recently, the former WWE United States Champion was interviewed by TVInsider. During the interview, Matt Riddle mentioned the reason why he loves Major League Wrestling..

“The reason I love MLW is before WWE, they were one of the few bigger companies that gave me an opportunity and believed in me. That is where I first met Bruce Prichard when he was one of the producers there. [MLW Founder] Court Bauer and everyone there has been behind me from day one. Now that I’m a free agent, we both have an opportunity to work together. That’s why I went back. It is like a homecoming. Court has always been nice to me. MLW has a good spot in my heart.”
