Cody Rhodes quotes his wife.
The new Undisputed WWE Champion kicked off the April 12 episode of WWE SmackDown to address the blue brand for the first time since his WrestleMania 40 victory.
Rhodes quickly addressed The Rock following their intense confrontation on the April 8 WWE RAW. In doing so, he quoted his wife Brandi from a promo she cut against Jade Cargill in AEW. He said, “Who the hell told you tonight was open mic night, bitch.”
Rhodes went on to say that he instantly knew what The Rock put in his hand on Monday as it was “a wartime overture,” something that he gifted to Rock at one point. Rhodes called it uncomfortable and awkward, but he knows Rock will be back to look for him after his next stint in Hollywood. Rhodes reiterated Rock won’t have to look far when he returns, because the champ plans to be standing right here.
Before leaving, Rhodes also addressed his six potential challengers that will compete for the opportunity to challenge him at Backlash France next month. He knows that he is being hunted now, and when you come at the king, “you best not miss.”
