During the April 9 episode of WWE NXT, Bron Breakker and Baron Corbin defended their NXT Tag Team Championship against Axiom and Nathan Frazer in a rematch from Saturday’s NXT Stand and Deliver event.
The closing moments saw Corbin choke Frazer in a sleeper while Breakker attempted to put Axiom away, but Axiom kicked out. Corbin then tried to pin Frazer, but Axiom broke it up.
Moments later, Breakker went for a spear on Frazer, but Frazer leaped over him and Breakker nearly plowed over Corbin. Frazer and Axiom capitalized on it by sending Breakker out, allowing for Frazer to hit Golden Ratio on Corbin for the three-count.
As a result of their victory, Axiom and Frazer are now NXT Tag Team Champions for the first time in their careers. This puts an end to the 56-day reign of Breakker and Corbin, who won the gold from Tony D’Angelo and Stacks on February 13.
But while Axiom and Frazer celebrated, The Final Testament made their way down to the ring and laid out the new champions. AOP held up the tag titles to end the segment.
