Tony Khan confirms that the footage will be real.
As announced on the April 6 episode of AEW Collision, the Young Bucks will air footage from AEW All In on the April 10 episode of AEW Dynamite. The company did not specify, but it was widely assumed that the footage would be of the backstage incident between CM Punk and Jack Perry at the pay-per-view. Punk’s contract was terminated following the altercation, and Perry was suspended.
In an interview with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Tony Khan stated that real footage would air, and he discussed the decision behind it.
“AEW has a great track record on delivering what we advertise, and it is real footage,” Tony Khan said. “The Young Bucks will show backstage footage from All In, the most important event in AEW history–the world record-holder for the most tickets ever sold for any wrestling record, over 81,035 total–and it was an important night backstage, as well.”
“The decision is based on putting on the best show for AEW, as well as driving interest for Dynamite and our Dynasty pay-per-view on April 21,” said Khan. “This is real-life footage that affected many people, and it will air for the first time on TBS during Dynamite.”
Khan also teased the storyline ramifications, as he noted that the Young Bucks were airing the footage for “a good reason” ahead of their match with FTR at AEW Dynasty.
