Another member of the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2024 has been confirmed.
In a post on Instagram, The Rock announced that he will be inducting his grandmother, Lia Maivia, into the WWE Hall of Fame.
“I’m honored to announce, that I will be inducting my grandmother, Lia Maivia, into the WWE Hall of Fame, class of 2024,” The Rock said. “One of the first ever female promoters of professional wrestling. She was a trail blazer. She was a protector of our family. She was the real Final Boss.”
Maivia was a trailblazer in the wrestling world, as she took over as the promoter of Polynesian Pro Wrestling after High Chief Peter Maivia passed away. She joins Paul Heyman, Bull Nakano, Barry Windham and Mike Rotunda, Muhammad Ali, and Thunderbolt Patterson.
Update: WWE then confirmed the news during the April 1 episode of WWE RAW.
The Rock returned to WWE earlier this year and joined the board of directors of TKO Group, the company that consists of both WWE and UFC.
