Kevin Owens: A Match With The Undertaker At WrestleMania 32 Was On The Table

Kevin Owens has had his fair share of iconic matches during his WWE career. However, he recently revealed that one major match that never came to be.

Speaking withWrestlesphere, Owens revealed that, at WrestleMania 32, he was originally set to face The Undertaker. Instead, Shane McMahon ultimately wound up as The Undertaker’s opponent.

“I think things just shifted and that was the year that Shane McMahon returned, so obviously at the time, my standing in the company compared to Shane McMahon coming back after all those years, the thought was probably ‘Shane McMahon versus The Undertaker is a huge match,'” Kevin Owens said.

Instead of facing off against the WWE legend, Owens would appear in a Ladder Match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship. According to Owens, while a match would have been nice, he’s happy to have had some moments with Undertaker throughout his career.

“I know it was on the table and it was heavily discussed. It would have been amazing,” Owens said. “My first WrestleMania, to be in there with The Undertaker, would have been sweet. It didn’t happen. But I’ve been in the ring with him. I was actually in the ring with him in the main event of a Madison Square Garden show, so I got to do that with him which was really cool.”

Owens will challenge WWE United States Champion Logan Paul for the WWE United States Championship in a three-way match that includes Randy Orton at WrestleMania 40.
