Shawn Spears scored the win against a debuting competitor in his return to NXT.
Shawn Spears made his shocking return on the February 27 episode of WWE NXT as he attacked Ridge Holland. Spears competed in his first match in a WWE ring since his 2019 release at NXT Roadblock on March 5. He faced Uriah Connors (Bron Finlay), who was making his NXT TV debut.
Spears went on to dominate Connors and pick up the win in a short match. After the bell, he sent Spears sent a message to Ridge Holland. Spears said that, unlike Holland, he was not ashamed of what he saw when he looked in a mirror. Holland came out and took the fight to Spears. Holland grabbed a chair, and Spears egged him on as he encouraged him to use it. Referees tried to separate them, and Holland dropped the chair.
Borgan is the son of Dave “Fit” Finlay, who works for WWE as a trainer and coach. He signed with WWE after he attended a tryout in November 2023. Brogan has competed for various companies on the independent scene, including GCW and Beyond Wrestling.
