Multiple professional wrestlers made a name for themselves in the world of Hollywood thanks to the Ready to Rumble movie. Top stars such as Sting, Goldberg, and Diamond Dallas Page were all part of the film. One star who was not part of the film was Kevin Nash.
Many believed that the WWE Hall of Famer should have played a part in the movie. Recently, Nash revealed the real reason why he was not in the film.
While speaking on the latest episode of the Kliq This Podcast, the WWE Hall of Famer revealed the real reason why he was not part of the film. Kevin Nash was not getting paid extra to be a part of the film and thus chose to take some rest at home.
“Yeah [It was a no-brainer for Kevin Nash to be in the Ready To Rumble film]. So… They weren’t paying anybody anything extra to do the movie. It was part of… So you weren’t doing house shows. They worked out a deal [with the film union]. Like a ‘Favorite Nations’ deal where like everybody was like scale. Like everybody made scale except [Diamond Dallas] Page didn’t. Goldberg didn’t. And somebody else didn’t. Because they actually took leads.
“So, I looked at it and I said, ‘Hmmm. Let me think. Will this do my acting career any good? Because I really don’t have enough of me being a pro wrestler.’ Like, I’m thinking, ‘Fuck! I say… Or can I just do Monday Night Raws? Or not [Raws] Nitros and be off the rest? Like just go home? Fuck man! You got to be kidding me.’ I’ll go. I’ll sit home. I don’t want to do a movie. Yeah it [the deal for the movie] was garbage,” Kevin Nash said.
