Mercedes Moné is everywhere ahead of her reported All Elite Wrestling debut later this month.
The CEO crossed paths with three-time Grammy-winning artist Megan Thee Stallion at the 8th annual Crunchyroll Anime Awards.
Mercedes Varnado, also referred to as Mercedes Moné on-screen, traveled to Japan these past few days to attend the Crunchyroll Anime Awards in Tokyo, Japan. The Anime Awards previously announced her as an award presenter alongside fellow anime enthusiasts. One fellow presenter in particular was contemporary rap sensation Megan Thee Stallion.
After presenting the Anime Award for “Best Slice of Life,” Mercedes took to Twitter to post photos of herself and Megan seated at one table. “Only for the anime hotties krew,” she says, referring to their respective fandom names.
Varnado’s close friend, Dean Muhtadi (FKA Mojo Rawley), also shared a photo of him and Megan on his Instagram story.
For any interested viewers, the full awards show is free for public viewership on Crunchyroll’s official YouTube channel. It may be seen in the link below.
While Mercedes’ trip to Japan was primarily for the Anime Awards, she also spent some quality time with names in the local Japanese wrestling scene. Such names include Mina Shirakawa of STARDOM, Miyu Yamashita of TJPW, and Hana Kimura’s mother, Kyoko Kimura.
Mercedes’ next wrestling appearance is expected for AEW Dynamite: Big Business, following months of speculation. The show will be live from the TD Garden in Boston on March 13.
