It sounds like Satoshi Kojima‘s match against Alex Kane at MLW SuperFight took its toll on the New Japan legend.
Saturday night at MLW SuperFight, Kojima secured the first huge upset of 2024 when he defeated Alex Kane to become the new MLW World Heavyweight Champion for the second time.
But it seems this title win came at a price, as New Japan Pro-Wrestling announced this morning on their official website that Kojima is off the February 8 and 9 events this week with an MCL injury.
New Japan has replaced Kojima with Ryusuke Taguchi in the upcoming events. The extent of Komjia’s MCL injury has yet to be revealed.
In addition to Kojima being off this week’s New Japan shows Jeff Cobb is also off these events due to a left thigh injury. Tomohiro Ishii will also miss this week’s events, but that’s due to his AEW Collision match with International Champion Orange Cassidy on Saturday.
On behalf of everyone at WrestleZone, we wish Satoshi Kojima a quick and speedy recovery.
