One of the biggest dreams of a professional wrestler is to be the top star in the biggest wrestling company there is and in most cases, it is WWE. Mostly, professional wrestlers compete in the independent scene, gain some experience and their performance in the indies earns them a contract at one of the top promotions.
Only a handful of stars get to begin their wrestling journey in the biggest wrestling companies in the world. One such star who started her career as a professional wrestler in the World Wrestling Entertainment is the only female member of the Tony D’Angelo Family, Adriana Rizzo.
The young and rising star began to wrestle for the Stamford-based promotion in late 2023. Adriana Rizzo was initially only competing in the NXT house shows. She was competing under her real name, Anna Keefer. Her first official televised match was in a Battle Royale to determine the number one contender for Lyra Valkyria’s NXT Women’s Championship.
While Rizzo was unsuccessful on that night, her first-ever match on Premium Live Event was a totally different story. She teamed up with Tony D’Angelo and Channing ‘Stacks’ Lorenzo to take on Out The Mud and Jaida Parker at NXT Vengeance Day. The Family emerged victorious.
Following the win, Rizzo took to Twitter to reflect on her entire run in the Stamford-based promotion. She also mentioned that her toughest hurdle to cross was to overcome her injury.
“A Full Circle Moment Over a year ago I came to Tennesee to tryout with the WWE. A lot has happened since then, the biggest obstacle has been recovering from my achilles rupture. But last night I debuted in my first PLE match back where it all started,” Adriana Rizzo tweeted.
