Drew McIntyre wants Cody Rhodes to finish his story, seemingly so he can complete his own.
The road to WrestleMania 40 has grown complicated in recent weeks. World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins is dealing with a torn MCL, and CM Punk has been sidelined with a torn triceps. Plus, Royal Rumble winner Cody Rhodes revealed that he will not be facing Roman Reigns at WrestleMania, as The Rock returned and confronted “The Tribal Chief.”
Rollins kicked off the February 5 episode of WWE RAW and called out Cody, as he wanted to know whether he would face him at WrestleMania. He told Cody he had to test himself by facing the best, and that was Rhodes. Before Rhodes could answer, Drew McIntyre interrupted. Perhaps sarcastically, he highlighted Rhodes’ quest to finish the story and told him he had to do it. He also told Cody that he could not let his father, Dusty Rhodes, down.
McIntyre also set his sights on Rollins’ title. When Rollins stated that he had already beaten McIntyre, “The Scottish Warrior” fired back that Cody previously defeated Rollins three times. Drew praised Rollins for being a fighting champion but said it was time for him to take over. He then dropped Rollins with a headbutt, but Cody intervened and sent McIntyre fleeing.
