One of the popular tag teams of the current era is the team of Chelsea Green and Piper Niven. The duo did not come together in the traditional way. When Sonya Deville suffered a torn ACL and was forced to be away from the squared circle, Green was not interested in relinquishing their WWE Women’s tag team championships. Green was looking for a new partner and Piper Niven showed up and demanded that she will be Green’s tag team partner.
The duo went on to successfully defend the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships on Live Television and House shows until the December 18th episode of Monday Night Raw. They lost the titles to Kayden Carter and Katana Chance. Both Chelsea Green and Piper Niven have been struggling to recapture the tag titles.
Despite their failing to win back the titles, their tag team still seems to be holding strong, which is a bit of a surprise considering the way they became a tag team in the first place.
The duo also planned to wear matching ring gear for the 30-Woman Royal Rumble match this past Saturday night. But unfortunately, the Scottish Wrestler was unable to wear the initially planned gear for the match as her’s didn’t arrive on time.
Recently, Piper Niven took to Twitter to share that her initial gear for the Rumble match was to honor the LGBTQ community with a Pride-themed Tartan print.
“Gutted it didn’t arrive on time but here’s my LGBT pride tartan fly plaid to match
@ImChelseaGreen‘s rumble skirt. ?❤️??????,” Piper Niven tweeted.
Green wore a long, flowing Pride-themed skirt to the ring, and wore metallic rainbow gear in the Women’s Royal Rumble match.
Green and Niven suffered another loss against Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark this past Monday Night Raw.
