Matt Hardy Shares What Sting Thinks Of Jeff Hardy, Says His Optimism Inspires Him Too

After a historical career in WWE, Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy are wrestling in AEW. Another WWE legend who is part of the Tony Khan-led promotion now is The Icon, Sting. Recently, Matt Hardy shared how The Icon feels about the Charismatic Enigma.

Sting and Jeff Hardy were part of an infamous match at TNA Victory Road in 2011. Concern for Jeff’s well-being caused TNA to cut the main event match short. Jeff was clearly intoxicated as he came to the ring, which led to an audible in the match. Jeff teased throwing his shirt in the ring, then Sting hit a Scorpion Death Drop and pinned him to end the match in just 88 seconds.

During the recent episode of the Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast, the former Broken One opened up about his relationship with his brother and Sting. Matt Hardy shared that the WWE Hall of Famer loves Jeff Hardy. He also mentioned how much Sting believes in forgiveness and learning from past mistakes.

“He’s always loved Jeff, he’s [Jeff] made mistakes, and he [Sting] said ‘I’ve made plenty of mistakes in the past as well.’ It was a mistake, and he said ‘I love him. He’s a good dude, he has a good soul.’ He loves him so much. That was his mentality for all that. He’s really good, man. He’s in a place where he has a very strong base in religion and he believes in forgiveness and that people deserve second chances.” [H/T Wrestling Inc.]

Matt Hardy also weighed in on how much the Icon is a very optimistic person. The WWE Hall of Famer also believes that a person who has committed the same mistake multiple times should still be given a chance to redeem themselves.

“Just because someone who’s a good soul or a good person, if they make a mistake, even a couple of times, they’re still worth redeeming. And I really like that. It’s very optimistic and very much something that makes me love Sting so much. [It’s] something that really inspired me too, to always be very forgiving towards everyone,” Matt Hardy said.
