Jim Ross Believes Sting Should End His AEW Career With His Undefeated Record Intact

One of the most legendary stars in professional wrestling is Sting. His career will be coming to an end in 2024. The Icon announced that at AEW Revolution he will wrestle in his final wrestling match and hang up his boots. Recently, Jim Ross shared his thoughts on if Sting should retire undefeated in AEW.

One of the most legendary commentators in all of professional wrestling is Jim Ross. During a recent episode of the Grilling JR podcast, the WWE Hall of Famer shared his thoughts on Sting’s retirement match. Ross mentioned that he does not want to see the Icon lose in his final match. He also referenced The Undertaker’s streak coming to an end, and how it was unnecessary.

“Yeah [it is right to have Sting end his AEW career with an undefeated streak],” Ross said.

Conrad Thompson followed up and asked if it would be right to have Sting lose and “do the honors” on the way out.

“No [it is not the right call to have Sting lose his last match]. I harken back my disagreement with beating The Undertaker at WrestleMania with Brock Lesnar. It wasn’t unnecessary,” Jim Ross said.

Adam Copeland opens up about wrestling alongside Sting

As 2023 was nearing its end, Adam Copeland made his AEW debut. In the short time he has been in the Jacksonville-based promotion the Rated R Superstar has gotten the opportunity to team up with The Icon Sting. Copeland shared his experience working with Sting during an interview with 3NT Wrestling.

“I’ve said before, anyone within the industry, part of the reason they got into the industry is because of a guy like Sting. He’s universally respected, universally loved, not just by the fan base but by the people in the industry because he’s a class act. I can’t say enough about the man. We’ve been friends for years, but to now actually share a locker room with him, to share the same space in the ring with him, he has an aura.

“Some people just have it, some people don’t. He has it in spades. [He’s] so much fun to be out there with, and I’m really glad that I’ve been a small part of this final leg of his career. He’s a guy man [that means it when he says] ‘This is it.’ It’s not going to be come back and come back. He knows this is the end of the road. Father time doesn’t lose,” Adam Copeland said.
