AEW Collision Results – January 6, 2024

This week’s episode of AEW Collision kicks off with Ric Flair coming out before Sting and Darby Allin are introduced for the opening tag team match.

Sting and Darby Allin (w/ Ric Flair) defeated The Workhorsemen

  • Sting hits JD Drake with the Scorpion Death Drop to secure the pinfall victory for his team.

Eddie Kingston defeated Trent Beretta to retain the AEW Continental Crown Championship

  • Eddie Kingston hits Trent Beretta with a brainbuster to score the pinfall victory.

Kris Statlander and Willow Nightingale are backstage. Nightingale says it’s weird how Stokely Hathaway is obsessed with Statlander, but she wants to focus on both of them having a big 2024. Statlander agrees and says they are two of the best wrestlers in AEW.

A video package plays from HOOK, who says his winning record in this company is second to none, and in 2024, he’s coming after Samoa Joe and the AEW World Championship.

Ring of Honor World Tag Team Champions The Undisputed Kingdom (w/ Roderick Strong) defeated Komander and Bryan Keith in a Proving Ground Match

  • Following a double-team move, Matt Taven gets the pin on Bryan Keith to secure the pinfall victory for his team.

More faction members for Bullet Club Gold?

Bullet Club Gold is backstage. Jay White says there is no relationship with The Acclaimed. Billy Gunn and The Acclaimed show up and wonder if they are talking about how their dad had to come out and save them again.

Max Caster proposes the idea of forming a faction together to get ahead in AEW and tells them to think about it. Jay White and Colton Gunn blow off the idea and walk away while Austin Gunn admits to Renee Paquette that the idea makes sense.

Adam Copeland comes to the ring and gets on the microphone. Copeland says he and Christian Cage beat the hell out of each other at AEW Worlds End and he beat him for the TNT Championship. Copeland says Cage said he needs to go to the back of the line, but he believes as a former champion he should get an automatic rematch.

Adam says he believes that Cage should be kissing Killswitch’s ass for getting the title back. Copeland says he will work back up the ladder starting tonight to get another shot at the TNT Title. Copeland issues an open challenge to anyone in the back. It’s answered by Griff Garrison

  • Adam Copeland locks Griff Garrison with a crossface to win the match via submission.

Cole Karter attacks Adam Copeland after the match and receives a spear for his troubles.

Sting is excited for his match on AEW Dynamite

Sting, Darby Allin, and Ric Flair are backstage. Flair says this Wednesday is a big week for Sting as he returns to Daily’s Place. Sting says he’s on his way to Jacksonville. Sting says he’s not coasting to Revolution and at Daily’s Place for Dynamite it’s going to be showtime!

Skye Blue defeated Kiera Hogan

  • Skye Blue locks Kiera Hogan in the Dragon Sleeper to win the match via submission.

Claudio Castagnoli defeated Andrew Everett

  • Claudio Castagnoli hits Andrew Everett with the King Kong Lariat to score the pinfall victory.

Ricky Starks and Big Bill are backstage. Starks says he knows everyone is awaiting the return of Ricky Starks at Daily’s Place. Starks reflects on his AEW Dynamite debut in Daily’s Place in a TNT Open Challenge against Cody Rhodes.

Ricky says he’s going to destroy Sammy Guevara next week on AEW Dynamite. Big Bill issues a challenge to Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara in a street fight next week at Battle of the Belts.

FTR defeated House of Black

  • Brody King comes out and tries to interfere, but Daniel Garcia comes out and stops him. Dax Harwood reversed Buddy Matthews’ rollup into one of his own to score the pinfall victory for his team.

House of Black attacks FTR and Daniel Garcia and leaves them lying as AEW Collision goes off the air.
