WWE United States Title Tournament Finals Set For SmackDown: New Year’s Revolution

The finals of the WWE United States Championship Tournament are set.

In recent weeks, several of SmackDown‘s top stars have battled it out in a tournament where the winner would earn a shot at WWE United States Champion Logan Paul. In the first round, Kevin Owens beat Austin Theory, and NXT star Carmelo Hayes defeated Grayson Waller. On the other side of the bracket, Santos Escobar defeated Dragon Lee, and Bobby Lashley advanced by beating Karrion Kross.

The quarterfinals were held on the December 22 episode of SmackDown. First, Owens scored a hard-fought win against Hayes. Later in the show, two masked men interfered and helped Escobar defeat Lashley. The duo revealed themselves to be Angel Garza and Humberto Carrillo.

As a result, Kevin Owens will face Santos Escobar in the tournament finals at WWE SmackDown: New Year’s Revolution on January 5. The winner of that bout will challenge Logan Paul for the WWE United States Championship at WWE Royal Rumble.
