WCW/nWo Revenge Hidden Feature Uncovered After 25 Years

The Nintendo 64 classic WCW/nWo Revenge continues to surprise gamers to this day.

The running grapple wasn’t implemented into the AKI wrestling games until Virtual Pro Wrestling 2 and WWF No Mercy. But it seems that AKI was tinkering with this feature as early as WCW/nWo Revenge in 1998.

Twitter user MelonBread, the creator of the AKI: Did You Know series, recently uncovered running grapples in WCW/nWo Revenge by hacking wrestler’s parameters in-game, tweeting out:

“After all these years … we discover that they’d hidden Running Grapples in WCW/nWo Revenge (including a Diamond Cutter from @RealDDP) … but I should say … you need to hack the wrestler’s Parameters so that the game ‘knows’ that they have a running grapple. That’s how they hid them: they set everyone’s Parameters in such a way that no-one can perform them,” Melonbread said in a series of posts.

This post caught the attention of Diamond Dallas Page, who took to social media to talk about the discovery, tweeting out:

“So my buddy @Melonbread1979 broke open the code for WCW nWo Revenge and found the rumored fourth Diamond Cutter. A running attack. So wild to see…hidden since 1998. Pretty dope to find something after 25 years. Had to share *bang emoji* *diamond emoji* DDP,” Diamond Dallas Page said in a post.
