Swerve Strickland On AEW All In: I Found A Way To Make It Meaningful In A Historic Setting

Swerve Strickland reflects on his experience at AEW All In.

On August 27, AEW made its way across the pond for All In at Wembley Stadium. This card featured 11 total matches between the pre-show and main show, including a coffin match pitting Sting and Darby Allin against Swerve Strickland and Christian Cage. During a recent interview with Notsam Wrestling, Strickland looked back on his performance inside the historic venue.

“For that day, I was in work mode. I was just in performance [mode], make this matter. Then it wasn’t until after I looked back on it, it just like, ‘Wow I did it. That’s incredible.’ I found a way to make it meaningful in a historic setting. The event itself is historic. Just being there is making history. From everybody, from HOOK, all the way to the top, with Kip Sabian on commentary, to the main event with Adam Cole and MJF, everybody mattered. Everybody made history. I want everybody to understand, regardless of what part you played in that, you made history. So don’t think whatever little job you did [doesn’t matter]. No, everybody mattered,” Strickland said.

“Me being in there with icons and legends and Darby who, we’ve shared couches with Sami Callihan in Florida, is just like, wow we made this happen. Sting, an icon, getting his moment and to be a part of that, we’re in history with that. Tagging with Christian, one of the greatest tag team wrestlers of all time. To me, my fan moment, I had one, was us hitting double spears at the same time, which was a precursor to seeing Adam Copeland come in a couple months later.”
