It is safe to say that Roxanne Perez is one of the most successful Superstars in NXT history. In her inaugural year, the former Ring of Honor wrestler managed to win the NXT Women’s Breakout Star tournament. She also won the inaugural Iron Survivor Challenge and went on to face Mandy Rose for the NXT Women’s Championship. Perez was the one who dethroned Rose and put an end to her 413-day reign.
Last night on WWE NXT, Hall of Famer Lita gave the former NXT Women’s Champion a chance to repeat history by attempting to qualify to this year’s Iron Survivor Match. Her opponent was Meta Four’s Lash Legend. The latter seemed to have had the upper hand as long as her faction members were ringside, but things changed when they were ejected.
As Perez looked to get the win, Kiana James showed up and attacked Perez and as a result, cost her the match. After the show went off-air, Mackenzie Mitchell caught up with an irate Perez. Here’s what she had to say.
“I am pissed off. I’m pissed off. That’s exactly how I feel. Because every single time that I get an opportunity, that I get an inch closer to getting back that NXT Women’s Championship, Keanu James has to come on in and take it from me. Kiana has had it out for me since the day that e got signed together. Why? Because I became Breakout Tournament winner. And she didn’t. I became Iron Survivor. She didn’t. I became NXT Women’s Champion. And she didn’t. And that’s supposed to be my fault? No. What’s going to be my fault, is when I take her out for good,” Roxanne Perez said.
