Tony Schiavone likes what Roderick Strong and The Kingdom (Matt Taven and Mike Bennett) are doing on AEW programming.
In recent months, Roderick Strong has been praised for his character work in AEW. Strong has worn a neck brace, and he has shined in his storyline where he has been Adam Cole’s jealous friend. Matt Taven and Mike Bennett have also been part of the act. They have advocated for neck health awareness throughout Strong’s recovery.
Speaking on What Happened When, Tony Schiavone was asked about AEW Full Gear and the situation with MJF, Roderick Strong, and the ROH World Tag Team Championship. He stated that he has enjoyed seeing Strong and The Kingdom develop their characters.
“A lot of good stories in this. Really, as a wrestling fan, have enjoyed seeing Roderick Strong and The Kingdom develop their characters,” Tony Schiavone said. “It’s been good stuff. When Roderick comes out, when he came out the other night in Oakland, they were shouting, ‘Adam,’ Adam.’
“It’s amazing how you can get just a tagline [over]. Scissor me, Daddy, right? Adam. Better than you and you know it.”
Strong returned to the ring on the November 11 episode of AEW Collision and defeated Darius Martin.
WrestleZone will have full coverage of AEW Dynamite as it airs on November 15.
