John Cena’s ‘Coyote vs. Acme’ Movie Shelved By Warner Bros.

It sounds like you won’t be able to see John Cena in the Looney Tunes or WWE Universe anytime soon.

The latest live-action CGI animation adventure from Looney Tunes, Coyote vs. Acme, has been shelved, according to The Hollywood Reporter. A WB Motion Picture Group spokesperson offered the following statement to THR.

“With the re-launch of Warner Bros. Pictures Animation in June, the studio has shifted its global strategy to focus on theatrical releases,” a WB Motion Picture Group spokesperson said in a statement. “With this new direction, we have made the difficult decision not to move forward with Coyote vs Acme. We have tremendous respect for the filmmakers, casts, and crew, and are grateful for their contributions to the film.”

The movie was set to star John Cena, Lana Condor, and Will Forte, among others.

The movie’s synopsis is as follows (courtesy of IMDB):

After all of the products made by ACME Corporation backfire on Wile E. Coyote, in his pursuit of the Road Runner, he hires an equally-unlucky human attorney to sue the company. When Wile E.’s lawyer finds out that his former law firm’s intimidating boss is ACME’s CEO, he teams up with Wile E. to win the court case against him.

This isn’t the first movie that has been shelved by Warner Bros. Discovery recently, as they also shelved the DCEU movie Batgirl last year.
