Sammy Guevara is still waiting to return to the ring for All Elite Wrestling.
Guevara has been sidelined for the past several weeks with an undisclosed injury. He last wrestled at AEW WrestleDream on October 1. There, he teamed up with Konosuke Takeshita and Will Ospreay to defeat Kenny Omega, Kota Ibushi, and Chris Jericho.
AEW announced Sammy Guevara was not cleared to compete on the October 4 episode of AEW Dynamite, but the exact reason for his absence was not announced. F4WOnline.com’s Dave Meltzer reported that Guevara is recovering from a concussion he suffered at WrestleDream, and remained hopeful to get cleared soon.
Guevara made an initial statement and said he was not cleared as of October 18.
“Good news, bad news. Bad news I’m not cleared yet. Good news everyday I’m feeling better. Sorry Houston I really wanted to put on a show for y’all. Hopefully next time,” Sammy Guevara wrote on Twitter. “Also Fuck Chris Jericho.”
Guevara answered a question on his Instagram Stories on Thursday night and said he’s still not cleared to return.
“Man, I wish I had an answer. I’m still not cleared,” Guevara wrote.
