MJF Becomes Longest-Reigning AEW World Champion In AEW History

MJF has made history.

On November 1, MJF officially set the new record for the longest AEW World Championship reign in company history at 347 days. The self-proclaimed generational talent won the gold by defeating Jon Moxley at AEW Full Gear 2022 on November 19, 2022. Since then, he has retained the title against Bryan Danielson, Darby Allin, Jack Perry, Sammy Guevara, Adam Cole, Hiroshi Tanahashi, Ethan Page, and Samoa Joe.

Most recently, MJF defeated Kenny Omega on the October 28 episode of AEW Collision to retain the title. Omega had held the record for the longest AEW World Championship reign. MJF’s victory guaranteed that he would surpass “The Cleaner”.

In perhaps the most significant highlight of his reign, MJF headlined AEW All In at Wembley Stadium, where he beat Cole to retain the gold.

MJF Has Two Big Title Matches Coming Up

MJF will be busy over the next few weeks. On the November 1 episode of AEW Dynamite, he and three partners will face Bullet Club Gold.

At AEW Full Gear, he will defend the ROH World Tag Team Championship with a mystery partner against The Gunns. He will also put the AEW World Championship on the line against Jay White.
