Tatum Paxley is one of the growing stars in WWE. She is currently wrestling in NXT. One of her most recent looks was inspired by none other than former WCW Superstar Daffney, aka the late Shannon Spruill.
Since making her debut, Paxley had been teaming up with Ivy Nile. She was an honorary member of the Diamond Mine. But then following a series of losses in the tag team division, Paxley turned on her only friend and tag team partner. This then led to a couple of matches between her and Ivy Nile. In the end, Nile managed to get the last laugh.
Now currently, Tatum Paxley is playing a heel. She has been more prominently featured on NXT LvL Up and has made sporadic appearances on NXT’s non-televised live shows.
Paxley recently shared a picture of her new ring gear. One fan noticed that there were a lot of similarities between this look and WCW veteran Daffney. Paxley replied to the fan by stating that he was correct and the gear was indeed inspired by one of the Scream Queens infamous attires.
“She was the inspo,” Tatum Paxley tweeted.
Inspired by the Scream Queen
Tatum Paxley has been competing in NXT since 2022. Paxley began training to become a professional wrestler at the Performance Center. Her first match was at a taping of NXT LvL Up back in February of last year. Tatum Paxley was also one of the competitors in last year’s NXT Women’s Breakout Tournament. Unfortunately, she lost in the first round against another young talent in the likes of Lash Legend.
Daffney began her wrestling career with WCW in the late ’90s. She also worked for TNA Wrestling, XPW, Shimmer and Women’s Extreme Wrestling throughout her career.
Spruill battled health issues (a result of in-ring injuries sustained in TNA Wrestling) that led to the end of her in-ring career. Spruill unfortunately passed away at age 46 in September 2021.
