Tony Khan Reveals When His Rivalry With WWE Went From Business To Personal

There’s a reason why Tony Khan has taken everything WWE has been doing so personally.

All Elite Wrestling President Tony Khan took to social media this morning to reflect on the one-year anniversary when the good folks at the Mayo Clinic saved his mother’s life. During that troubling time, Khan had to deal with multiple people on his roster telling him that WWE was trying to tamper with them and asking them to break their deals, tweeting out:

“This weekend marks 1 year since @MayoClinic saved my mom’s life. During her ordeal many AEW talent came to me alleging WWE tampering, inducing them to break their contracts. I’ll never forget these phone calls at her side in the hospital; it’s when business became personal for me. This is nothing new, I mentioned it last year after she came home. It’s relevant today because she checked in for surgery 1 year ago today. As I’ve mentioned several times since, @MayoClinic are heroes and thanks to them, her recovery from a very grim outlook has been a miracle,” Tony Khan said in a series of posts.

It’s abundantly clear that Tuesday’s “war” with WWE NXT opened up old wounds for Tony Khan this week.
