Two nights ago was one of the most important nights in the history of professional wrestling. After a long time, AEW and WWE went head-to-head on the Tuesday night. To make sure they won the Tuesday Night War, the Stamford-based promotion brought in some of the top stars, such as John Cena, to make the black and gold brand feel more grand.
NXT was something that many might argue to be the best show the Black and Gold brand had ever produced. The stars that showed up on the show were John Cena, Paul Heyman, Asuka, Cody Rhodes, LA Knight, Becky Lynch, and many more.
John Cena was in NXT for the first time in his career. He was present to be in the corner of Carmelo Hayes during the main event of the night. Prior to that, Cena came out to address the crowd. He was interrupted by Bron Breakker. Before the self-proclaimed Badass competed in the main event, he almost ate an Attitude Adjustment from Cena. Lucky for him, Breakker managed to escape.
During the main event, Solo Sikoa came out and that led to a brawl between the Street Fighter and the 16-time World Heavyweight Champion.
Following the show, John Cena took to Twitter to thank the crowd and his fellow wrestlers who made the night extra special.
“A really special night at @WWENXT. Being “present” in that ring and enjoying the crowd at the #WWENXT Arena is something special. THANK YOU to @ShawnMichaels, the entire roster, @Undertaker, @WWEAsuka, @CodyRhodes, @HeymanHustle, @Carmelo_WWE and everyone who made it so much fun,” John Cena tweeted.
The night came to an end with the shocking return of WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker. He and Carmelo Hayes also shared a special moment together.
