Adam Copeland Asks Christian Cage To Team With Him Again, Christian Says Go F-ck Yourself

Adam Copeland says he came to AEW to put the band back together, but Christian Cage doesn’t want any part of it.

Copeland was featured in the main event segment on AEW Dynamite on Wednesday night. He addressed his arrival in AEW and said this was the last time he would bring it up, but needed to get something off of his chest.

Copeland talked about his 40-year relationship with Christian Cage, who his kids affectionally call “Uncle Jay”. They told him to go have fun with him in AEW, so Copeland formally asked Christian to team up again. Christian came to the ring and Copeland poured his heart out, talking about how they needed to prove to a generation why they were one of the all-time teams.

Christian asked for the mic and proceeded to hug Copeland, then said “go f-ck yourself” and left the ring. He then stood at the top of the ramp and showed Copeland a reminder of what he was up against on Title Tuesday Dynamite. Luchasaurus and Nick Wayne then flanked Cage on the stage to end the show.

That’s The Dream

Copeland recently sat down with Shakiel Mahjouri of CBS Sports. When asked about reuniting with Christian Cage in AEW, Copeland said that was his dream.

“If we could end this together, that’s the dream,” Adam Copeland said. “I sat down with my girls, and I’m like, ‘OK, so what does dad do, girls?’ What do I do? And I laid out the scenarios for them. Lyric said it, and then Ruby agreed, ‘Go be with Uncle Jay and have fun.’ And that doesn’t mean that I’m not having fun in other places, but they know the most fun I’m going to have is with my best friend of the last 40 years.”

Copeland also said he didn’t feel like WWE had a plan for him. He saw his best friend having the time of his life in AEW, so it made him want to make the leap.
