All Elite Wrestling delivered an action-packed show with the September 29 episode of AEW Rampage.
Tonight’s episode of Rampage will see The Acclaimed and “Daddy Ass” defend their AEW World Trios Championships against The Hardys and Brother Zay. Plus, Eddie Kingston will put the NJPW STRONG Openweight Championship on the line against Rocky Romero.
Elsewhere in the show, Ruby Soho and Hikaru Shida will clash in a singles match. The winner of the bout will earn a shot at the AEW Women’s World Championship opportunity on the October 10 episode of AEW Dynamite.
The results are as follows:
Match 1: Daddy Ass & The Acclaimed defeat The Hardys & Brother Zay via pinfall
In an opening match for the AEW World Trios Championships, things got off to a hectic start. With the crowd going back and forth with “Delete” and “Suck it” chants, the superstars kept feeding into it as Matt and Daddy Ass came out to fight. In the end, though, the reigning champions would do enough to win, with Zay getting hit with The Acclaimed’s dual finisher for the pin and win.

Backstage, Kingston began speaking but was quickly interrupted by Jay Lethal, Jeff Jarrett, and their crew. Lethal said that Kingston is unfit to be the reigning ROH World Champion, before Kingston laughed off the suggestion and quickly left to go to his match.

Andrade had bandages wrapped around his head as he spoke about being attacked by Bullet Club Gold on last week’s episode of AEW Collision. He said this time, he’ll be the one doing the ass kicking, when he takes down Juice Robinson tomorrow night.
Match 2: Eddie Kingston defeats Rocky Romero via pinfall
In the subsequent match, Kingston was able to defeat Romero to retain his NJPW Strong Openweight Championship. Things came to an end after Kingston hit a big spinning backfist on Romero, before hitting another and then locking in the Stretch Plum for the submission victory.
After the match, Kingston and Romero gave each other a nod before Romero left, and out came ROH Pure Champion Katsuyori Shibata in a shocking arrival. Shibata walked down to the ring and then grabbed Kingston’s fist, with the two acknowledging each other ahead of their match at WrestleDream.

In a quick moment backstage, the duo said that they want to make FTR feel the same type of shame and defeatedness that they did last year when they lost. At WrestleDream, Aussie Open said, the duo plans to win the AEW World Tag Team Championships.
Match 3: The Righteous defeat Caleb Crush & Gunnar via pinfall
In a relatively quick match, The Righteous absolutely dominated things, taking down Crush and Gunnar in short fashion.

Nick Wayne had a lot to say about Luchasaurus. He said he doesn’t understand why Christian Cage tries to act like a father figure to anyone, but says that he will get his payback at WrestleDream’s Zero Hour pre-show for Luchasaurus chokeslamming him onto a skateboard at AEW All In.

Sabre took part in a brief interview with Renee Paquette backstage, saying that he just arrived from Japan and is ready to force Bryan Danielson to retire at WrestleDream on Sunday.
Match 4: Hikaru Shida defeats Ruby Soho via pinfall
Shida and Soho went absolutely all out in this one, taking things outside of the ring as well. Late in the match, Shida even managed to lift up Soho and carry her back down the ramp in a backbreaker before both superstars got back into the ring as the referee was ending his ten count.
Ruby Soho then tried to resort to underhanded tactics to win, including grabbing a kendo stick. As the referee stopped her, though, Soho grabbed a can of spray paint, but accidentally hit the referee with it instead. This momentary second of chaos let Shida hit her finisher, but no one was there to count to three.
Eventually, a referee came down, but Soho was back on her feet by then, and the two went at it some more. The match came to an end when Soho hit the No Future kick on Shida, but Hikaru was able to quickly hit the Katana in return for the pin and win, and a shot at Saraya and her AEW Women’s Championship next week on AEW Dynamite.
