Amid reports and rumors regarding Jade Cargill‘s AEW departure, Tony Khan comments on the former TBS Champion.
Jade Cargill worked the AEW Rampage taping on September 13. There, she lost to TBS Champion Kris Statlander. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) then reported that her AEW contract is likely up. The report noted that she is expected to head to WWE. She was reportedly expected to go to the WWE Performance Center this week.
In an interview with Josh Martinez for Superstar Crossover, Tony Khan was asked to comment on the rumors surrounding Jade Cargill.
“Jade had a great match on Friday night on AEW Rampage. It was a great match against Kris Statlander,” Tony Khan said. “Kris Statlander retained the TBS Championship on Rampage on Friday night. I thought that was a great match. Definitely one of the best matches I’ve seen either of them have. I thought it was a great main event for the show.
“As far as Jade goes, I can’t really comment on that, except to say that Jade’s been a great wrestler for AEW, and certainly always welcome in AEW. [She] could always be somebody we would always love to work with here in AEW.
